We all think we don’t do it until we realize we totally do it.
I was coaching one of my Being of CEO clients and she was so surprised to realize that what she thought was “communicating her frustrations” was nothing more than plain complaining.
We spent the session learning together why she was so attached to complaining as a mechanism to deal with her frustrations.
The reason you feel like crap despite the green smoothies, the salads, the motivational podcasts and the positive phrases you read to yourself every day is simple.
You are stressed.
Not the kind of stress that has you yelling at people, feeling rushed, and intolerant to the smallest of things. Not that kind of stress.
What you have, is the kind of stress that is chronic.
If you are the kind of person hiding behind excuses or, blaming others for not being satisfied with one, some or, all of your questions above….if you never stop to reflect, learn and take action….you really need to promote yourself to the position of CEO of your own life because it is obviously vacant!
Taking full responsibility for our well-being in all areas of our lives is a full time job. The highest paid job, by the way. The job you will never want to quit from. One job worth doing.
A life coach with a life-coach. That is me. Better yet, when I could choose to be coached privately, I instead choose to pay several thousands($30k to be exact) on….GROUP coaching. Whaaaaat?? That amount of money could afford me private coaching with someone else for three years if I wanted to…so why do I choose group coaching? I got immense value from the coaching my peers who did speak today received. I in fact got coached vicariously through them.
You may feel a little crazy trying to control what happens everywhere you go, what everyone does and says so that you never get to feel the discomfort of inadequacy, failure, imperfection, insecurity, etc…
Trying to protect your energy only leads you to more controlling behaviours. To try and control what you never will control, the future, people’s thoughts, spontaneous events.
As you “fail” to control all things outside of your control, your insecurities increase and you feel weaker.
Are you enough? Did you do enough? Do you have enough? Feeling, having and specially doing enough is important to you. That’s why you often overthink about these questions. “Enough” seems to be an elusive feeling that when you think you got it, POOF it disappears. No matter how much you do, you give, you buy, at the end of the day when your head is about to hit the pillow, you wonder if everyone was happy, if what you did, gave, and have, was actually enough?
Over thinkers always end up “making it work” but not without first adding a lot of unnecessary drama and anxiety.
The over thinker is used to living in a state of stress and sleepless nights. It is used to being told that they are worrying too much about something, they are also used to being tired.
The adrenaline that over thinkers produce on a single day could be used to run a full marathon, no questions asked.
